Water Fellows Communications Coordinator

Description of Work Unit:

 The Colorado Water Center (CoWC) is one of 54 Water Resources Research Institutes created by the Water Resources Act of 1964, collectively forming the National Institutes for Water Resources. As a division under Colorado State University’s (CSU) Office of Engagement and Extension (OEE), the Center aims to connect all water expertise in Colorado’s higher education system with research and education needs of the state’s water managers and users. The CoWC leads interdisciplinary research, education, and outreach activities to address complex and evolving water-related challenges in Colorado and beyond. The Center fosters collaboration among stakeholders, synthesizes objective water knowledge to inform decision-making, and inspires the next generation of water leaders. Job Description:

The Colorado Water Center (CoWC) is seeking a Water Fellows Communications Coordinator to assist with designing and creating visual content, such as blog posts or videos, updating social media sites, and other duties as assigned. 

The successful candidate will assist with telling the stories of the 2023-2024 Water Fellows and creating media summarizing the year. The successful candidate will also share photos and outcomes of the 2024 Water Workforce Summit and CoWC 2024 summer events. 

 

Job Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Assist with communications, marketing and media of the Water Fellows Program.
  • Must be a current Water Fellow.

 

Required Skills:

  • Experience running social media accounts and creating and designing visual content. (Digital Proficiency, Verbal and Written Communication, Creativity)
  • Ability to work collaboratively and respectfully with students from diverse backgrounds, identities, and life experiences.(Global Context and Inclusive Teamwork)

 

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience creating templates for social media posts (Digital Proficiency, Verbal and Written Communication, and Creativity)

 

Hourly Pay Rate: $20.00 per hour
