Remote Administrative Assistant

International Student and Scholar Services (ISSS) in the Office of International Programs is seeking a self-motivated, multi-tasking, organized, professional student employee who is detail-orientated, enjoys data management and has good written communication skills. 

Position Details:

This position provides support to ISSS immigration advisors and administrative staff. Our unit is responsible for maintaining international student and scholar immigration records in SEVIS (Student and Exchange Visitor Information System).

Student worker duties will include data entry in several databases, digital file management, email contact with current international students and scholars, and other clerical duties as needed.

About You

Required:

  • Current or incoming CSU student
  • Personal computer with wifi access and a private location to work.
  • Must be able to work a minimum of 8 hours a week.
  • Work hours are anytime between 8AM-5PM, Monday through Friday. Evening and weekend hours may be available after the student is proficient enough to work independently.
  • Scheduled shifts must be at least 2 hours
  • Preferred: Work-study award for 2024-25 academic year

The ideal candidate will be:

  • Detail- oriented with problem solving, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Sensitive to and accepting of personal and cultural differences in people as well the ability to relate well with individuals of diverse cultural and educational backgrounds.
  • Knowledgeable with Microsoft Office, specifically Excel and Outlook.
  • Able to learn new computer programs quickly with consistent results.
  • Experienced in handling confidential and/or sensitive information.
  • Able to work independently and efficiently, often without supervision.
  • Able to prioritize responsibilities to meet deadlines with successful completion of work.

Interview Process

Resume and cover letter are required for application consideration. Applicants invited to an interview will participate in a data entry skills test. Interviews will be held in-person in Laurel Hall. If the applicant is not able to interview in-person, a remote interview can be arranged.
