Position Duties/Responsibilities

  • Equipment Management: Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot 3D printers and related equipment. Help perform basic maintenance and ensure all machines are in proper working order.
  • User Support: Assist students, faculty, K-12 users, and staff with 3D printing projects. Provide guidance on proper use of equipment and software, troubleshoot issues, and share best practices.
  • Lab Maintenance: Help maintain a clean and organized lab environment. Ensure that the lab is always prepared for use and that all equipment is in place.
  • Event Support: Assist in the preparation, set-up, and running of lab-hosted events and activities. Lead demonstrations and provide information to new potential users.
  • Training & Documentation: Provide training sessions for new users on how to use 3D printers and associated software.
  • Inventory Management: Monitor and help manage inventory of printing materials and supplies.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with other lab staff members to execute various projects and support the lab’s operations.
  • Log & Calendar Management: Assist in tracking and maintaining logs/calendars of user sessions to ensure smooth lab operations.
  • Innovation & Improvement: Suggest and implement improvements to lab processes and equipment to enhance the user experience and lab efficiency.

Position Minimum Qualifications

  • Interest in 3D Printing: A strong interest in 3D printing and related technologies.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to troubleshoot and find solutions
  • Passion for Learning: A passion for continued learning and knowledge sharing
  • Communication & Collaboration: Ability to interact and work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team
  • Time Commitment: Availability to commit to at least 10 hours per week in the lab.
  • Must have work study
