Position Title:  Course Support

ESS 545 Applications in Greenhouse Gas Inventories
Lecture: Wednesday, Friday 9 a.m. – 9:50 a.m.
Lab: Wednesday, Friday 1 p.m. – 4 p.m.

Position Summary: 
We are seeking a meticulous and knowledgeable Course Grader to provide course support for graduate Applications in Greenhouse Gas Inventories course for the Spring 2025 semester This part-time position requires proficiency in R and involves attending the lab each Wednesday and Friday, providing material support to students, and assisting with the timely grading of assignments and projects with instructor provided guidance and rubrics.

Organization Summary: 
Ecosystem Science and Sustainability (ESS) is an academic department within the Warner College of Natural Resources. The mission of ESS is to advance understanding, develop and share insight, and provide leadership for decision makers at the forefront of local, regional and global sustainability challenges. Department faculty use state-of-the-art technologies and approaches to provide quality education to future scientists, educators and decision makers, conduct cutting edge interdisciplinary research, and deliver culturally relevant outreach programs that empower our students and the general public locally, nationally, and internationally.

Responsibilities/Duties
• Attend the lab sections of the course weekly; provide support in R troubleshooting for students enrolled in the course. 
• Grade assignments and projects related to ESS 545 Applications in Greenhouse Gas Inventories. 
• Maintain accurate records of grades and progress, ensuring all work is documented properly.
• Communicate with course instructors regarding any grading issues or discrepancies.

Required Qualifications
• Must be an active Graduate student at Colorado State University.
• Proficiency in R.
• Strong understanding of the course material and relevant subject matter.
• Attention to detail and ability to adhere to grading criteria.
• Excellent communication skills for providing meaningful feedback to students.

Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience with academic grading or tutoring. 
• Demonstrated R Proficiency.

Number of weekly working hours: 10 hours average

Potential Start date and duration: January 21, 2025 – May 15, 2025

Number of Openings: 1

Hourly Pay Rate: $21.00
