Job Title: Human Resources Intern

Reports to: President & CEO

Posting Timeframe: February 3, 2025 – open until filled

Position Timeframe: March 3, 2025 (or upon hire) – May 16, 2025

Position Type: Non-Exempt Part-Time (10-15 hours per week)

Salary Range: $19 hourly

Scope of Position

The Human Resource Intern will play a crucial role in supporting the CEO by conducting in-depth research, analyzing data, and providing insights on various HR-related topics. This role offers an opportunity to contribute to evidence-based decision-making within HR while gaining valuable research and analytical skills.

 

Key Responsibilities 

  1. Research and Analysis: Conduct research on HR best practices, compensation, and industry trends. Gather data from reputable sources and compile information into comprehensive reports. Analyze data to identify patterns, trends, and insights relevant to HR strategies. Assist in preparing presentations and documentation based on research findings.
  2. Talent Management: Assist in developing talent acquisition strategies by researching effective recruitment methods and candidate sourcing channels. Analyze candidate profiles to identify suitable matches for various roles. Contribute to the enhancement of the onboarding process by researching successful onboarding practices.
  3. Employee Engagement: Research employee engagement strategies, survey methodologies, and tools. Assist in designing and administering employee engagement surveys. Analyze survey results and help identify areas for improvement in employee satisfaction.
  4. Diversity and Inclusion: Research diversity and inclusion best practices in the workplace. Assist in developing strategies to promote diversity and inclusion within the organization. Contribute to the creation of training materials that promote a diverse and inclusive work environment.
  5. Technology/Administrative: Research and evaluate HR software and tools to enhance HR processes. Contribute to the development of training materials for HR technology adoption. Support in auditing of personnel files and HR policy completion/compliance.

 

Preferred Qualifications

  1. Currently enrolled in a degree program preferably in a relevant field such as Human Resources, Industrial-Organizational Psychology, Business Administration, or a related field.
  2. Previous internship or relevant work experience is a plus.
  3. Genuine passion for the non-profit sector and alignment with the organization's mission, values and commitment to equity.
  4. Demonstrated ability to work effectively within a team environment, collaborating with colleagues to achieve shared goals.
  5. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and research tools is expected.
  6. Strong research and analytical skills, with the ability to synthesize complex information.
  7. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  8. Detail-oriented and able to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
  9. Enthusiastic about learning and contributing to emerging and best HR practices.
