Position Title:  Main Office Support

Position Summary: We are seeking a friendly and capable student to provide part-time support in-person in the Ecosystem Science and Sustainability Department’s Main Office.  This position may work between 10-15 hours a week depending on their availability to work during business hours, and preference will be given to students who demonstrate experience with administrative tasks, problem-solving, and customer service.

Department Summary: Ecosystem Science and Sustainability (ESS) is an academic department within the Warner College of Natural Resources. The mission of ESS is to advance understanding, develop and share insight, and provide leadership for decision makers at the forefront of local, regional and global sustainability challenges. Department faculty use state-of-the-art technologies and approaches to provide quality education to future scientists, educators and decision makers, conduct cutting edge interdisciplinary research, and deliver culturally relevant outreach programs that empower our students and the general public locally, nationally, and internationally.

Responsibilities/Duties: 
• Answer general inquiries via phone, email, or in person from students, faculty, and staff.
• Assist with light office cleaning and organization, ensuring a clean and organized workspace for the department.
• Provide administrative support to faculty, staff, and students, including filing, data entry, and handling correspondence.
• Assist with special departmental projects as needed.

Required Qualifications: 
• Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively both in person and electronically.
• Ability to handle light office cleaning and organizational tasks.
• Detail-oriented with good time management and organizational skills.

Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience working in an office setting or customer service role.
• Familiarity with basic office equipment and software. 
• Interest in ecosystem science, watershed science, or sustainability.

Number of weekly working hours: 10-15 hours a week

Potential Start date and duration: February 24, 2025 through Spring semester with potential for extension.

Number of Openings: 1

Hourly Pay Rate: $15.00
