The ENvision Engineering Summer Program is a collaboration with Campos Engineering, Procurement, and Construction, LLC (Campos EPC, LLC) and hosted in-person at Colorado State University (CSU). A seven-day overnight residential program for rising high school juniors and seniors from across the US. Participants partake in hands-on engineering learning sessions led by current students & faculty of the Walter Scott Jr. College of Engineering while also exploring life as an engineering student at Colorado State University. Students will be assigned to mentors who will assist in various capacities. As an assistant in this position, applicates will assist the ENvision coordinator and mentors with various needs including the ones below:

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate mentor training and develop training materials.
  • Collaborate with Engineering Education Outreach Coordinator to develop program sessions.
  • Outreach to potential program collaborators to initiate and finalize program session development.
  • Attend all scheduled trainings for program preparation from Tuesday May 20th – Wednesday 21st & Tuesday May 27th – May 29th 2025
  • Attend the full subsequent program from May 31st – June 6th 2025
  • Program sessions will be hosted by community members and CSU faculty. The coordinator will be on call to assist instructors or mentors with additional needs.
  • Lead small and large group discussions among mentees and mentors that incorporate academic and social content.
  • Attend meetings after program sessions with peers to ensure that mentors and students are all contributing to community care.
  • Follow CSU’s protection of minor’s policy by staying in residence hall overnight with participants (lodging, meals, and parking provided).
  • One position will be on-call during mentor off-hours (night) to ensure balanced responsibilities & monitoring of minors staying on campus in residence hall (hours for the night assistant position 7:00 pm to 6:00 am).
  • CPR & First Aid Training will be provided to all staff

Requirements:

  • 2.75 or above GPA
  • WSCOE Undergraduate Major (students who graduate May 2025 will be considered)
  • Interest in working with historically excluded populations.
  • Initiative to facilitate small group discussion with high school student mentees in small groups.
  • Availability to fully participate in training and program dates.
  • Some experience with working in previous mentorship positions and/or educational outreach experience with K-12 students.
  • Commitment to inclusive excellence and willingness to work towards providing inclusive spaces.
  • Willingness to assist and facilitate in academic and social interaction sessions.
  • Colorado State University may conduct background checks on final candidates.
  • Assistants & Mentors are provided housing in residence hall during program period with participates (May 31st – June 6th 2025).
  • Must hold a valid Driver’s License
