ASIC / FPGA Design & Analysis Summer Intern

Position Summary:

We are seeking a motivated ASIC/FPGA Design & Analysis Intern to join our team. This role is ideal for students pursuing a degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field, with an interest in digital circuit design, ASIC/FPGA development, and hardware security analysis. Interns will gain hands-on experience in designing, verifying, and analyzing ASICs, using industry-standard and open-source tools.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in designing and simulating ASIC components using Verilog.
  • Work with logic synthesis tools to optimize performance.
  • Perform functional verification using testbenches and simulation tools.
  • Develop reverse engineering skills, including netlist extraction and circuit analysis.
  • Gain an understanding of microscopy and imaging techniques used for ASIC inspection and layout validation.
  • Collaborate with other interns to troubleshoot and optimize digital designs.
  • Document/Present findings and contribute to technical reports.

Qualifications:

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Knowledge of digital logic design, VHDL/Verilog, and circuit analysis.
  • Familiarity with open source ASIC/FPGA design tools (e.g., Icarus Verilog, Yosys, Quartus, Vivado) is a plus.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience with Python, C, or scripting for automation is a plus.
  • Passion for learning and attention to detail in hardware analysis
  • Must be a US Citizen with the ability to obtain a DOD Top Secret security clearance.
