Job Title:                            Fiscal Assistant

Pay Rate:                            $15.37/hour (Wage Scale Step 3)

Job Summary:

The Fiscal Assistant supports all aspects of the Fiscal Accounting Tech II duties: computer data entry for department accounts, travel documents, and general clerical duties.

Qualifications:

·        Seeking a detailed oriented worker with an aptitude for accounting.

·        Proficiency in data entry and general math skills.

·        Experience with Microsoft Excel spreadsheets; hands on test may be administered during the interview.

·        Work experience handling cash, checks, and credit cards.

·        Work between 10-15 hrs/week and must be available to work Monday-Friday between 8am-5pm.

Job Responsibilities:

·        Consistently uphold all Campus Recreation department policies and procedures for patron and employee management related to position; critical thinking, problem solving within limits of department policy and procedures, judgment to identify and apply existing guidelines, training, enforcement, and communication for employees. (PA/L)

·        Provide a safe and effective environment for patrons. (PA/L)

·        Uphold service ethic, professional appearance standards, and Emergency Action Plan response. (PA/L)

·        Be alert to disorders, injuries, and inappropriate behavior, and deal with as trained or report to supervisor accordingly. (L)

·        Mandatory attendance at Department All Staff Development each semester.

·        Attend all staff meetings as scheduled. (V,WC,TW)

·        Data entry on spreadsheets.

·        Reconcile department data against reports. (CT/PS)

·        Verify and enter departmental deposits using recreational sales software. (DP)

·        Verify and enter travel documents. (DP)

·        Reallocation of department purchasing card. (DP, CT/PS)

·        Perform general clerical duties.

·        Prioritize responsibilities to meet deadlines with successful completion of work. (L)

·        Ability to work inclusively in a diverse setting. (TW)

·        Effective communication, customer service, and organization skills.

·        Work with minimal supervision, with a variety of people, and variety of customers; community, students, peers, and professional staff.

·        Other duties as assigned
