VA Work Study for Summer and Fall 2025

This position is for VA Work Study with the Veterans Education Benefits Office (VEBO) in the Office of the Registrar. Students who are also eligible for Work Study award through FAFSA should share your award information with the hiring manager when you interview. VA Work Study is open to US active military, US military veteran, and their dependents using VA Education Benefits (GI Bill®) or Veteran Readiness & Employment (VR&E).

Interviews will be held in-person in Centennial Hall, 1st Floor, Fort Collins campus.

 

Description of Work:

  • Assisting School Certifying Officials (SCOs) in the certification of GI Bill® benefits paperwork [CT/PS, PA, IT, V&WC, DP]
  • Answering phone calls and assigned emails in a courteous and professional manner [CT/PS, PA, C, V&WC, DP, GC]
  • Assisting students with VA' s GI Bill® application process [CT/PS, PA, L, V&WC, DP, GC]
  • Assisting students with CSU's certification request process [CT/PS, PA, L, V&WC, DP, GC]
  • Assisting with outreach under the direct supervision of the SCOs [CT/PS, PA, SR, IT, C, L, V&WC, DP, GC]
  • Other duties as assigned by the SCOs or other staff in the Office of the Registrar (RO) [CT/PS, PA, SR, IT, C, L, V&WC, DP, GC]
  • If hired, you do not work for the VA; you would be working for CSU.

This Position Does Not Allow the Following

  • Students who are enrolled for less than 3/4 time (based on VA's Rate of Pursuit - not based on FAFSA's definitions) will not be issued a work contract.
  • Working on homework during work hours. [PA, V&WC, CD]

Rate of Pay

This position is partially paid for by the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA); however, since some of the job tasks will be for the RO, non-veteran related tasks are paid by the RO. 

This is a work-study position; an applicant must be eligible for work-study to apply.

Applicants eligible for VA Work Study from VA Education Benefits (GI Bill®) or Veteran Readiness & Employment (VR&E) are given priority.

Starting Hourly Pay Rate: $14.81

Number of Openings: 15
