
Precalculus Tutor and Staff Assistant
Job Description:
- Seeking self‐motivated, multi‐tasking, organized student employees who possesses superior customer service skills.
- May work 5 - 15 hrs/week, scheduled hours will be between Sunday 12pm to 4pm, Monday from 10am to 6pm, Tuesday - Thursday from 10 am to 8 pm, and Friday from 10 am to 4 pm.
- Must be willing to work at least one evening each week.
- Must be willing to work during fall and spring semester. Summer employment is a possibility.
- Employees may not take MATH 117 - 126 while employed by the Precalculus Program.
- Must have AP/IB credit for MATH 160 or have completed MATH 156 or 160 with a grade of B or higher.
- Must take a 1 credit seminar class, day and time to be arranged.
Job Duties/Responsibilities:
- Serve at the check in desk, issuing and collecting exams, and greeting people as they walk in. TW, V
- Proctor Exams in the Testing Center. PA, CT/PS
- Serve at the resource desk lending resource items to students. DP, TW
- Maintain confidentiality, be punctual, and communicate changes in work schedule. PA
- Tutor students in precalculus math (MATH 117, 118, 124, 125, and 126), both in person and possibly online. DP, V, CT/PS
- Required to attend MATH 384 during the first semester of employment. This class meets Mondays from 5pm to 5:50pm.
- Weekly staff training are held on Mondays from 4pm to 5pm.
Required Skills – Good customer service skills, able to work with a diverse student population, reliable. TW, V, PA
Preferred Skills – Work independently and efficiently. CT
