Job Title:                     IT Communications Intern    

FLSA Status:             Hourly 

Reports To:                PMO Governance Manager

 

General Description: 

Under direct supervision the IT Communications Intern supports the IT team in creating clear, user-friendly communication materials for both technical and non-technical audiences. Assists in developing and sharing IT-related content, helping to bridge the gap between IT professionals and end-users.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Assist in creating engaging and informative content about IT projects, system updates, and technology trends. Help develop communication materials such as newsletters, emails, presentations, intranet posts, videos, and user guides.
  • Provide assistance to project managers in organizing and coordinating project activities.
  • Help with scheduling meetings, preparing agendas, and documenting meeting minutes.
  • Participate in reviewing and refining current documentation.
  • Identify areas for improvement and suggest solutions to enhance efficiency.
  • Support the development and refinement of clear, standardized communication templates for project management updates, reports, and stakeholder messaging.
  • Facilitate communication between project teams, operations, stakeholders, and the PMO.
  • Help maintain collaboration tools and platforms.
  • Contribute to the development of internal communication materials.
  • Participate in training sessions related to communication methodologies.
  • Assist with the implementation and ongoing support of communication management tools.
  • Assist with any ad hoc tasks or projects as directed by the IT team.
  • Be flexible and ready to assist with a variety of IT tasks and support needs.

  • Excellent written and communication skills.
  • Strong leadership skills; effectively motivates and builds self-confidence in others.
  • Proven experience in problem solving and decision-making.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines with attention to detail, communicate effectively and deliver presentations to senior leaders.

Educational Requirements: 

  • In the process of obtaining a bachelor’s degree in Communication.

Work Days:

Normal workdays are Monday through Friday. Occasional Saturdays and Sundays may be necessary.

 

Work Hours:

Normal work hours are 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Additional hours may be necessary.

Local travel may be required.
