
Lab Assistant – Tree Tissue Electrical Analysis
The Civil and Environmental Engineering Department is seeking a detail-oriented Laboratory Assistant to support variousa Ph.D. student in their research focused on the electrical properties of tree tissue using Electrical Resistivity Tomography (ERT). The successful candidate will be responsible for a variety of laboratory tasks that contribute to our understanding of plant and environmental sciences.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and organize samples for analysis
- Perform conductivity measurements on tree tissue samples
- Measure and document sample weights
- Accurately document results and assist in data analysis
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with basic laboratory instrumentation
- Strong attention to detail
- Interest in plant or environmental sciences
Start Date: June 1, 2025
End Date: August 15, 2025 (with the possibility of extension)
Pay Rate: $18.00 per hour
Estimated Hours per Week: 10–15
