This project seeks to hire an experienced graduate research assistant on an hourly basis for Summer and Fall 2025. The objectives are to evaluate the technical and economic feasibility of limited irrigation practices. The successful candidate will assist with data analysis, interpretation, and reporting related to a completed field study on grazed pastures in Colorado's Western Slope. The anticipated activities include the development of Extension/outreach materials, including bulleting, presentations, and/or posters that describe results of the experiment and feasibility studies.
Duties of this position may include, but are not limited to:
- data analysis, interpretation, and reporting
- development of Extension/outreach materials, including bulleting, presentations, and/or posters that describe results of the experiment and feasibility studies
- writing reports
Required Skills:
- Must be a PhD graduate level student enrolled in agricultural sciences or systems engineering
- One or more years of experiencing working on projects related to agricultural water conservation in western Colorado.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality, be punctual, and communicate changes in work schedule
- Ability to work inclusively in a diverse setting
- Demonstrated proficiency with Python, R, ArcGIS, Matlab, Javascript, Loggernet
Preferred Skills
- Experience collecting survey data
- Experience writing academic papers and publishing in academic journals
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Strong organizational skills
- Ability to prioritize responsibilities to meet deadlines with successful completion of work
