The College of Engineering Development Office is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented student assistant to support our fundraising and donor relations efforts. This role offers a unique opportunity to engage with alumni and donors, contribute to strategic outreach and stewardship initiatives, and gain professional experience in advancement, project management, and communications. 

The position will begin in the summer with the possibility of extending into the academic year.  Part time hours are flexible and negotiable with a desire of 10+ per week.  Position will be in person with an office location in the Scott Bioengineering Building on main campus. 

Position Duties/Responsibilities

Donor and Alumni Communication: 

  • Support outreach and stewardship activities, including writing thank-you notes, email correspondence, and impact updates.
  • Attend select donor meetings and events as a student representative of the college.
  • Assist with communicating college priorities, student experiences, and impact stories to external stakeholders.

Administrative and Project Management: 

  • Help manage digital and physical files, forms, receipts, and travel documentation.
  • Assist with data entry and reporting related to development operations.
  • Support event planning, meeting preparation, and general office functions.
  • Draft and edit written materials as needed (event summaries, bios, etc.).

Position Minimum Qualifications

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a high level of tact and discretion.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Microsoft Teams.
  • Strong organizational and time management abilities.
  • Dependable, detail-oriented, and able to maintain confidentiality.

Position Preferred Qualifications

  • Interest and/or background in engineering or other STEM fields
  • Interest and/or experience in nonprofit, sales, business development, or a related field
