
Business Operations Student Staff Assistant
The Collaborative for Student Achievement houses several student service offices including Key Communities, Scholar Success Programs, Exploratory Studies Advising, Health Professions Advising, Orientation Transition and Family Programs, and Academic Advocacy. The Student Staff Assistant serves as the central, front-facing role for the entire department managing our Welcome Center and any guests who utilize our space or call our office. Additionally, the Student Staff Assistant will collaborate with Business Operations team members on projects involving Calendaring, Building Management, and commensurate with experience, HR and Budgets.
Student staff in this position are charged with creating a welcoming, inclusive environment focused on customer care. In addition to completing Business Operations team projects, student staff can expect to interact with many guests providing directions, sharing process information, scheduling appointments, updating professional staff calendars, answering phone calls, and more. Student staff help guests navigate CSU policies and procedures by connecting them to appropriate resources and people. An ability to problem-solve and think quickly is beneficial in this role.
The Student Staff Assistant position is supervised by members of the Business Operations team and a work-study award is required for the duration of employment. Training will begin in August 2025 with a start date of August 25, 2025. This position runs from August through May 2026. All University breaks during the academic year are optional work weeks. There is an opportunity to extend employment from year to year pending performance and work-study award availability.
Student staff schedules are based on work study awards.
- Academic year employment is part time, Monday-Friday between 8-12 hours per week.

- Attend and participate in Welcome Center staff meetings/trainings as designated each semester
