Software Engineering Intern

June - August 2019 • Waltham, MA

What I liked

I loved the company culture at Constant Contact. They really care about the happiness and wellness of their employees. Plus, they had free beer cart on Fridays for 21+ interns and employees!

What I wish was different

I wish there was an opportunity to get to know the other interns before our start date. I know a lot of interns were not from Massachusetts and had a difficult time finding housing. In which case, I would have been more than happy to help them with my experience living off campus in the Waltham area!

Advice

Go to work everyday excited to learn something new. Even if you feel like you're faced with a challenge that seems impossible- the people on your team only want to see you learn and succeed. Don't be afraid to ask for help!

Full-Stack Software Engineer

July 2016 • Waltham, MA

What I liked

I joined constant contact as part of their software engineering rotational program. I enjoyed being able to rotate through different disciplines of software engineering to better determine where I wanted to direct my career. I gained different skills, a strong network, and received trainings during my first year.

What I wish was different

I wish they weren’t located in Waltham.

Advice

Don’t be afraid to try something new. The extracurricular involvements are building your brand and can show off skills even if they are not directly correlated to the job you’re applying for. Help make those connections for the employer
