Eagle Mine

May - August 2019 • Champion, MI

What I liked

The practical experience it offered. The exposure to control systems

What I wish was different

More interactive training given by engineers

Advice

"Annoy" the engineer, get him to give you projects and try to get the technicians to show you how to calibrate sensors, bend conduit and install new stuff.

Geotechnical Engineering Intern

May - August 2018 • Big Bay, MI

What I liked

I liked getting to go down in the mine every day and be exposed to how the mine operates. I enjoyed working with the engineers and seeing the planning that goes into everything.

What I wish was different

I wish I had been able to spend more time experiencing various areas within the mine rather than focusing only on the geotechnical engineering.

Advice

I would advise people to be open to anything, and try to take any experience that is offered.

IT Intern

June - August 2018 • Champion, MI

What I liked

I learned a lot about computer networking and got to help solve real world problems. The projects I worked on directly helped the company.

What I wish was different

I wish I could have stayed longer!

Advice

They start every meeting (and interview) with a safety share, so be prepared for that. Eagle Mine is very safety oriented.

Supply Chain Intern

June - August 2018 • Champion, MI

What I liked

What I wish was different

I wish my internship was in the career field that I want to work for. While it was a good experience I would have liked to do more marketing work instead of finance work.
