Enterprise Rent-a-Car

Management Trainee

May - August 2019 • Windsor, Ontario

What I liked

My whole internship was a fantastic experience! The company was amazing and really treated you well. As well I learned a ton of new things and gain a lot of experience in all areas of business. I also enjoyed working with my coworkers and meeting customers of all different ethnicities and backgrounds.

What I wish was different

The only thing I wish that would've been different is the hours. I would've like a 9-5 job compared to 7am to 6pm everyday, sometimes longer depending when the last customer left.

Advice

One piece of advice I'd share about this experience is ask as many questions as possible so that you can gain as much experience and knowledge as possible.

Management Intern

May - September 2019 • Leominster, MA

What I liked

I enjoyed how the position was completely out of my comfort zone. I dealt with customers, but I had to learn how to pitch myself and the vehicle protection to have customer purchase and return to improve the customer service ranking.

What I wish was different

I wish I worked on my sales pitch before the summer was half over. I was in a long period of training and did not realize selling the protection would have the largest impact on my skills.

Advice

Don’t say you hate sales until you give it a try and succeed. Never get discouraged.

Sales Management Intern

May - July 2018 • Lynn, MA

What I liked

I liked how dynamic the job was, and how no two days were the same. The job has many facets: you have to make calls to customers, you do marketing for the company, you work on your sales skills at the counter, etc.

What I wish was different

They have really long hours and sometimes you’re expected to work 6 times a week depending on your location.

Advice

Be ready to engage with customers in all aspects. At the store, on the parking lot, and on drives to/from the store. Also, be ready to be on your feet most of the day, work long hours, and sometimes helping to wash cars.

Management Trainee Intern

August 2019 • Hunt Valley, MD

What I liked

I learned how to be an effective salesperson and it gives the opportunity to network with lots of different people. Including coworkers and customers.

What I wish was different

Nothing, maybe that I had found the internship sooner.

Advice

Training in a busy branch can be difficult so the first few months you feel lost because there’s a lot to learn but eventually you get the hang of it.

Management Trainee

May - August 2018 • Brighton, MI

What I liked

This internship provided a great deal of sales experience, as well as thorough exposure to the managerial side of the business. Interns at Enterprise do far more day-to-day work that directly impacts the company than most interns elsewhere.

What I wish was different

I had to work a handful of weekends over the summer, which I would have preferred to have off.

Advice

Invest a summer and apply for this internship. You will gain a lot of meaningful experience, and a lot will be thrown at you from Day 1, but don't be afraid to jump in right away and contribute.

management trainee

May - August 2018 • Burlington, VT

What I liked

I really enjoyed how personable all of the coworkers were and how friendly everyone was. The internship was able to give me a lot of insight on the future and prepare me for the future

What I wish was different

I wish I would have tried different positions in the company and tried to try different things that they offered. I tried a lot of different things but I ended up doing a lot of the same things every day.

Advice

Be confident in your self, you are the brand and you are working to give the customer the best experience possible. This starts with the customer service, this makes the experience that much better

Management Trainee Intern

May - August 2018 • Hanover Park, IL

What I liked

The introduction to a career path type job as opposed to just summer jobs with no future that I wished to explore. The job provided a huge amount of experience with customer service and sales with many opportunities a day to test myself in those areas. The hour long lunch was a great luxury to enjoy everyday, in addition to the many times the company treated us to all expense paid eating and happy hour events.

What I wish was different

The internship is nearly identical to what Management trainees starting at Enterprise go through; this entails a lot of hours everyday spent at work and not a lot of time for oneself. The training before going to our daily positions was barely adequate and going through an extreme "useless intern" phase was an unpleasant couple of weeks for me to learn everything on the job.

Advice

Get comfortable being uncomfortable, a truly rewarding internship will not be a comfortable and easy transition to make. The best way to learn is to try and fail, and if your managers see that they will respect and recommend you as being someone capable of handling adversity.

Sales and Management Trainee

May - July 2018 • Missoula, MT

What I liked

Incredible coworkers and managers Lots of information learned Great customer service experiences I grew as an individual

What I wish was different

Lighter work schedule to better handle important tasks More coworkers to handle heavy work load

Advice

Walk in with as much energy and positivity you can, and walk out at the end of the day care free. Basically treat each day as a new day and don’t stress about it at the end, or else your entire life becomes the job.

Sales Management Trainee - Intern

May - August 2018 • Shorewood, IL

What I liked

I enjoyed the experiences I was given. I was never treated as an intern, rather as an employee whom they were training to be a part of the team permanently. I've stayed in contact with many of my peers. Enterprise built more than a career for me; they built a family and many friendships.

What I wish was different

The only thing that I would change is the amount of travelling I had to do to corporate without compensation for tolls.

Advice

Embrace it and ask questions. Everyone is always there to help you, so don't be ashamed to listen to others or ask for help. Everyone is willing to give you advice and help you become a better employee.
